Today Doug would have been 66. It just doesn't seem possible we have been without him for 7 years! I never thought . . .
The kids are all gone home, so a very quiet house today. Which is ok with me, I have the stereo and the tv to keep me company but they are lousy game playing partners! Ever tried to play Yahtzee with one of them? They never remember it's their turn or to accuse you of not rolling the dice properly!
I had a great time with the kids. Over break I saw each of them although Isaac just and only yesterday. Alyssa, Xan, Jillian and Isaac went with me to Tipton for Hannah's tournament. They were so good sitting through four games. It was boring for them but they made the most of it and had a good time. Plus it helped pass the time for Xan and Alyssa as they waited for their folks to come back. We plus Michael, JoAnna Hannah and Keiarra (sp) went to IHop afterward to eat dinner. That was fun too but boy was I ever glad to finally get home. It was a long afternoon!
Church this morning was wonderful Mr David Glock was the guest preacher today, He teaches our Monday night Emmaus Extension Study. It was not only wonderful to see him but to listen to him preach was just like Monday study only more formal.
Trying to get Doug Day figured out sheesh! I don't like to be the one making all of the plans when all my brain wants to do is veg after all the activity with the kids. It seems strange with them all gone now. I have really missed the chaos of having kids in the house. It's so different with them all so much older. I would tell them I am going to bed you guys go to bed at a certain time just don't wake me up early, and they never did. I am one very blessed Gramma I'll tell ya! So many grand parents don't even get to see their grandkids much less get to spend as much time with them as I get to. Thank you Lord, for that blessing.
9 weeks till Tricia and I travel to Arizona to see our parents. That will be great!
Back to the real world tomorrow with full weeks of work :) it's been a great holiday season for me! Thanks in part to my wonderful kids but all of it came from the hand of my loving Heavenly Father who loves me unconditionally.
